IN THIS LESSON
This class will teach students the difference between a trend board and a mood board and how it is used per season in the fashion industry for presentations. Trend boards provide a more actionable direction for designers to follow current trends, whereas mood boards are more open to interpretation and creative exploration.
• We will teach you how to focus on upcoming design trends, often including specific color palettes, textures, silhouettes, and key design elements.
• We will help you capture the overall mood and vibe of a project through a collage of images, colors, textures, and text.
• In this class, you will be creating trend and mood boards through market research. You will learn how to identify design trends, highlight emerging fashion, and color stories. You will work with fabric swatches and technical sketches to be used as a designers guide in incorporating current trends into your collections or designs.
